Braille2000: Program Keys

Braille2000 logo] Braille2000 software is activated by Program Key device. There are several types of key device to suit your needs:

Diskette Key (part nr. suffix -LD)
A 3.5" diskette that must be inserted each time Braille2000 begins executing (after the diskette is read, it can be removed and the drive used in the normal ways).

Serial-port Key (part nr. suffix -S9)
A small plug-in device for a 9-pin serial port. The key supplies license information automatically.

USB-port Key (part nr. suffix -U1)
A small plug-in device for a USB port. The key supplies license information automatically. (no file storage)

USB-port "ThumbDrive" Key (part nr. suffix -U2)
A small plug-in device for a USB port. The key supplies license information automatically and stores up to 15.5MB of file data. (this is a flash-memory hard drive)

Network-licensed Braille2000 (part nr. suffix -IL)
For computers with active Internet connections, Braille2000 may be activated via a Network Key, a license that is obtained over the Internet. To use network licensing, the Internet connection must be maintained throughout the entire Braille2000 work session. Network license support is available world-wide from our server or (by special order) for local installation on your own fileserver computer. Network support is available for individual licenses and for pools of licenses (a number of licenses delivered first-come-first-serve to a larger number of workstations, as in a school computer lab).

Warranty
All program key devices come with a lifetime warranty covering wear and tear and accidents: if you return a defective key or the broken pieces of a defective key to us, we will send you a replacement key. It does not matter how the key became defective, so long as the key is returned for replacement.

The warranty does not cover loss or theft of the key. Given the high replacement cost of the license, you may wish to insure the key for loss or theft via some third party.
